I am amazed by this story about a wolverine being spotted in California after being seemingly non existent for eighty years. When I read it I was reminded of a gas station in south east Michigan. On the corner of Allen Road and Sibley there is a tiny plaque and old photograph from the late nineteenth century. “Last Wild Buffalo Killed in Michigan.” I don’t remember the date and vaguely remember the picture. I doubt any wild buffalos will be spotted anytime soon, and as far as I can remember wolverines are extinct there too.
